James Kan was born as a quite sick baby, with a weak constitution which had made him a bit quiet, often bullied by other kids till he started his professional martial art training at the age of 12, his life and stamina changed drastically literally within a few weeks. Not only this has enhanced his confidence, did he also progressed intellectually, and James Kan had taken the leadership in school all the way after graduation from the University.

Dr. Jiusong Kan (James) has been an indoor disciple of Grand Master Bao for over 15 years. Dr. Kan began studying
martial arts at the age of 12. With extensive martial art training in Shui jao, Chen taijiquan, Baguazhang, Xingyiquan, and Yiquan. He has a close relationship with many high-level Masters in China and had obtained profound understanding in both external and internal cultivation. Dr Kan had personally witnessed and experienced the empowerment of the internal changes and gained some extraordinary abilities at early age which he did not realized until he became a diligent Budhism practitioner 18 years ago. Dr. Kan had won 3st place in the National Collegiate Taijiquan tournament in 1990 and 1993, and first metal 2 times in Xingyiquan at beijing Martial Art Tournament of Universities.
   

                                                                   

Dr. James Kan graduated from Beijing Traditional Chinese Medical College, he is an experienced traditional Chinese doctor . He was an orthopedic surgeons at Beijing TCM hospital in China. He was also a chief physician for the national athletic team in Beijing.

 

Besides James Kan's extensive training in martial art, Dr. kan was also a well-experienced , respected and accomplished orthopedic surgeon at Dongzhimen Hosital of Beijing before came to U.S. in Nov. 1999.  From 1987 to 1993, he had apprenticeship and as indoor disciple with a few of the most outstanding doctors in modern China.

Currently Dr. Kan is Licensed Acupuncturist in New York State. Dr. Kan runs his private prcetice in Both NYC and Westchester.   He served as a clinician at the integrative medicine center of Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS).
